The edition consists of a collection of articles organized around the question of whether it is still possible today to be a democratic citizen, in an era when the demos—the public social fabric, the passion for the common good as argued by Castoriadis—is in retreat, giving way instead to extreme individualism and regimes that resemble an oligarchic mode of functioning.
